In Fairfax County VA, most fences do not require a permit.
There are a couple of exceptions to the rule. These exceptions are:
- Fences used as a barrier around a swimming pool
- Fences required for pedestrian safety
There are some regulations to be checked – even if a permit not required. One of these regulations is the setback requirement. This determines where on the property a fence can be placed.
At Carter Fence, we are aware of all the local regulations involving your new fence. We can help you not only by building the new fence, but by making sure the new fence meets any and all local regulations – including any needed permits and setback requirements.
